… let your gaze wander and take in the mountainscape on the sunny side of the Montafon valley. The Alte Schulhaus, or “Old Schoolhouse”, is the perfect place to do it. Behind the old façade, you can get a sense of what it must have been like to attend school here in years gone by. These days, guests no longer have an arduous journey to reach the schoolhouse. The journey up to the building, situated at around 1,000 metres elevation, can be comfortably completed by car – in summer and in winter. The snow-covered mountains are now the backdrop for refreshing hikes and no longer for difficult walks to school. Freezing in the classroom is, like the winters of yesteryear, a thing of the past. Thanks to underfloor heating and a cosy, traditional tiled stove, today’s parlour is a haven of well-being for the whole family – and friends, too.
